Hello my name is Bethany Ellis, I am 16 years old and I am currently starting my A2 coursework for Media.
At AS Level I created a music magazine which was for my coursework. Producing a music magazine was challenging but it has defiantly prepared me for A2 as what i will be doing is a lot harder. But atleast now I have the knowledge and experience of using the range of media programmes such as Photoshop and Indesign and also presenting my work on sites such as Prezi, slide share and Goanimate.
For A2 I have to use a new media programme called Premeire. For the last week or so I have been using this programme to edit a short film I created called 'the package'. By doing this it has helped me understand what Premiere is about and I have had practise on how to use it which is is very useful. I found it quite difficult at first because there are a lot of different video transisitions and video effects to know and use. However, I think doing the bridging task has definatly helped me for when it comes to producing my coursework because I have a deep insight and understanding on how to use the programme and I also feel more confident as I have had the practise.
For A2 I either have to produce a horror trailer or a music video. In lessons we watched a variety of horror trailers and music videos so we could make a final decsion on which one we wanted to choose. I didnt want to jump straight into it but I knew deep down that I wanted to do a music video. I came to this decsion because music is something I enjoy more and creating a horror trailer doesnt really appeal to me, for the obvious reasons (i would scare myself). I am looking forward to producing a music video as I am intrigued to learn the variety of camera shots and techniques, as well I think it would be a lot of fun.
